The Orchard is in the midst of a new and exciting season as we prepare to take a huge step forward in our mission of “helping people become who God has created them to be.”
Several months ago, the leadership team of Harvest Bible Chapel reached out to The Orchard’s leadership team to share that they were in the midst of searching for a new church “home” for their Aurora satellite campus. We later learned that after months of jogging on the trails near The Orchard’s property, the Aurora Campus Pastor felt compelled to reach out to explore any interest or plans The Orchard might have in selling our campus.
Although our campus was not for sale, The Orchard’s leadership team agreed to open our hearts and begin a series of conversations. In the days and weeks that followed, our leadership team felt a growing sense that perhaps God was at work, orchestrating something beyond what any of us could have ever imagined.
After months of prayer, conversations, meetings, as well as continued interest from Harvest, The Orchard’s leadership team concluded that if we were able to agree on a purchase price that would enable us to maximize the stewardship of resources God had entrusted us with, that we would, in fact, agree to sell our property.
A short time later, a purchase offer was made that was not only fair, but that would also position us with the ability to exponentially expand our church’s mission. On March 30th, 2016, the Orchard’s Board unanimously approved the sale of our campus to Harvest Bible Chapel, followed by a joint announcement to both congregations just a few weeks later.
Both The Orchard Community and Harvest Bible Chapel feel overwhelmingly blessed and thankful for how God has provided a beautiful solution for two really great churches!

For several years now, it has been our dream to not just be a church in the city, but to be a significant part of what makes our city what it is. We believe that the sale of our campus truly repositions us, allowing us to take some significant steps forward towards the realization of that dream.
Plans are currently underway to develop a beautiful and unique space in the heart of downtown Aurora that will not only be a perfect new home for The Orchard, but that will also allow us to have an integral 7-day a week presence in the heart of our city.

The Orchard will continue to occupy our current campus until August 31st, 2016. Starting on September 1st, The Orchard’s regular weekend gatherings will be held at an interim space (TBA soon!) while our new Downtown Aurora home is being completed.
